Water Baptism teaches us what Jesus did in His death, burial, and resurrection. Romans 6:4 says Jesus was raised from the dead by the glory of His Father. The Father spoke over Jesus, "You're my beloved son" and that revelation is what raised Him. It's that same revelation of how the Father feels about us that empowers us to live the resurrected life right now.
